receptionist
First point of contact for all incoming calls (including potential and existing clients).
Helping with customer enquiries as well as customer service to the general public. Greeting visitors ensuring reception area is presentable.
ADMINISTRATION
Updating of various customer databases. Filing and posting of invoices. Ensuring customer accounts are within credit terms. Contacting trade customers for payment information. Providing copy invoices and statements. Processing chq's received and various Bank duties.
POST
Distribution and dispatch of post. Courier bookings. Air Freight bookings.
SALES
Assisting with general public orders and enquirys. Organisation of returns and refunds. Assisting sales team when needed.
GENERAL OFFICE DUTIES
Answer incoming calls and dealing with basic customer queries. Receive and despatch post and parcel couriers. Handle postal queries e.g. returned mail, track parcel progress. Order office consumables and stationery.
ACCOUNTS/ ADMIN/ DAY TO DAY BANKING
Processing credit card payments.
Creating monthly customer account statements.
Pursuing late payments.
Reconciling incoming invoices to delivery notes and statements.
SKILLS SOUGHT
You must be commercially minded, will have had some sales experience and will have a great telephone manner. Computer literacy vital, enthusiasm and flexibility essential and an interest in art & design would be welcomed. Charming, persuasive, enthusiastic, friendly and flexible. Commercially minded with some retail/trade knowledge. Charming telephone manner. Excellent computer literacy and touch typing. Excellent PC skills, we use spread sheets and word processing on a daily basis + ACT! (customer database) + Access Accounts (for customer orders and invoicing).
SUCK run an established placement scheme for industrial and product design students. If you wish to apply for a position please contact us with examples of work, your course requirements and a compilation of music (this is our personality test so make it good!). We get several enquiries every week and regret that not every applicant can be successful! All our placements run for a minimum of 3 months and we prefer a full years commitment.
Industrial / Product Design.
The most sought after placement positions in the design industry! Get hands on experience in a small design studio working directly with the designers and production team. You will see all aspects of the job from product development and production to exhibitions and marketing.
